Do you love death? Do you fear God? You may be wondering why I asked these questions, and what they have to do with each other. In proverbs 8:36, wisdom is speaking, and says, "But he who sins against me injures himself; all those who hate me love death"(NASB). And in Proverbs 9:10, it says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." If you do not "fear the Lord," then you must "love death," for if you don't "fear the Lord," you do not have wisdom. And if you do not have wisdom, then you hate wisdom, and, as stated above, "...all those who hate me love death."
If you don't fear the Lord, you need to. Have faith in God, believe what Christ did on the cross is real and has saving power, the power to save you from your sin and wickedness, and repent and turn from your sin. Read your bible, listen to biblical teaching, pray and beg God for mercy and forgiveness. If you don't fear the Lord, yet think you're good enough to get into heaven, think again! "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away." - Isaiah 64:6. If you don't fear the Lord, and say that science has "disproved" God, and that those who believe in God are fools, even if you won't believe the bible, the bible does have something to say to you: "For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are saved it is the power of God... Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe... Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men... but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong..." - 1 Corinthians 1:18, 20, 21, 25, 27. (I know I skipped some verses in there. If I would have copied the whole passage, it would have been much longer. To get the whole of the passage, read either 1 Cor. 1, or 1 Cor 1:18-31.) For those of you who do fear the Lord, "Do not let your heart envy sinners, but live in the fear of the Lord always. Surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 23:7, 8.
May the Lord be with you, everyone, to save and sanctify you, to turn you to repentance, and to work His will through and in you.
